My baby's teeth are coming in crooked!

Worried about crooked baby teeth? Don't! Baby teeth can sometimes come in crooked, but straighten out later once more teeth come in.

Even if your child has a full set of baby teeth and some of them are crooked, there is likely no intervention that would even be considered before 5 or 6 yrs old. The most important thing is keeping the teeth clean - brushing and flossing, especially if the teeth are crooked or crowded.

The American Association of Orthodontists (AAO) recommends a first visit to the orthodontist at age 7. If your child has crowded baby teeth, it is almost certain that there will be some crowding with their adult teeth. If there is no crowding but also no spacing of your child's baby teeth, your child has a 50/50 chance of having crowding in his/her adult teeth.
