What kind of toothpaste should my child use?

You should start brushing your child’s teeth with a fluoridated toothpaste (brand does not matter) as soon as they have teeth. Use a “smear” amount (no more than a grain of rice) of toothpaste on the toothbrush. Once your child can spit well on her own (usually about 3-5 years old), you can increase the amount of toothpaste to a “pea sized amount”

The ads you see for toothpaste all have WAY too much toothpaste on the toothbrush
